you need. We look forward to accompanying you
on your journey toward renewed health and peace. At Casa Palmera, your life

Items You May Bring to Treatment
Please note that all items are subject to review by the Casa Palmera staff.
• Please do not bring more than $100 cash with you
• Personal identification (e.g. drivers license or passport)
• Your insurance card
• Your credit card that can be used for incidentals, supplements, medications,
and outside medical costs
• Comfortable clothes, including work-out attire for the fitness center, yoga, and other
physical activities ~ shorts need to be mid-thigh, for both men and women
• Jacket or sweater, for evening time and winter months, sneakers or other
comfortable shoes
• Swimsuit and sun block for summer months ~ conservative one-piece only for women,
mid-thigh shorts for men ~ swimsuits are not allowed in the building at anytime
• Please bring all prescription medications with you. Due to state laws governing prescription
medications, we need to send them to our pharmacy for identification and re-packaging,
for a nominal fee. All medications will be dispensed by our nurses
Please do not bring any over-the-counter medications
• Toiletries such as soap, shampoo, toothbrush/paste, body lotion, non-aerosol deodorant
feminine products, brush/comb, hair dryer and curling iron, electric razors only for shaving
• All toiletries must be in plastic containers
• Mouthwash must be alcohol-free
• Cigarettes, if desired
• Phone card for long distance calls (phone cards may also be purchased onsite)
• Written list of important phone numbers ~ you will not have access to your cell phone
• Books, either novels or light reading
• Stationery, envelopes, and stamps
• iPoad or small CD player with headphones ~ usage will be limited to therapeutic purposes
Residents Admitting for Eating Disorder Treatment
To ensure your safety and care, patients admitted with eating disorders will be under
bathroom supervision. This means the bathroom will be locked, until the staff feels
that it is safe and appropriate for it to be unlocked.
Items NOT TO BRING to Treatment
The following items are not allowed at Casa Palmera.
Remember, all items are subject to review by the Casa Palmera staff.
• Camera/video recorder
• Cell Phones are not allowed during treatment at Casa Palmera
• Laptop computer and computer equipment
• Razor blades of any kind, including disposables ~ electric razors are permitted
• Sharp objects of any kind, sewing needles, scissors, nail clippers etc.
• Valuables such as jewelry, etc. Casa Palmera cannot be responsible for lost
or stolen items
• Food, snacks, gum, mints
• Beverages of any kind
• Items containing alcohol such as mouthwash, perfume/cologne, aftershave, etc
• Any Chemical Liquids such as nail polish, and nail polish remover
• Non-prescription, over-the-counter medication such as Advil, Tylenol, including
ointments, etc.
• Stereos
• CDs, DVDs and videos ~ Casa Palmera will provide appropriate therapeutic
CDs for use and Netflix for movie nights
• Aerosol products including deodorant and hair spray
• Alcohol and illegal substances
• Caffeine products or beverages ~ no caffeinated beverages are served while
in treatment
• Firearms and/or other supplies/weaponry
• Shirts/blouses or other attire with explicit messages or photos.
• Revealing clothing showing the midriff, low-cut tops, tube tops, spaghetti straps, form fitting
attire, short shorts ~ nothing shorter than mid-thigh, two-piece bathing suits for women,
Speedos for men
• Clothing that is for dry cleaning only ~ Casa Palmera is happy to provide onsite laundry
service for all patients.
Our staff will mark your clothes labels / washing instructions tags
with your initials
• Arts/crafts materials
• Personal sports equipment such as ab-rollers, weights, etc
• Emotionally laden books, glamour magazines, or sexually explicit materials
• Note: There may be other items that the staff deems inappropriate during treatment.
Casa Palmera is not responsible for lost or stolen items.
