Author of PTSD and Addiction: A Practical Guide for Clinicians and Counselors, Dr. Jerry Boriskin, PhD, is a passionate advocate for integrated treatment. Boriskin developed one of the earliest extended residential treatment programs, and in 1999 he co-founded Advanced Recovery Center in Delray Beach Florida. His vision predated the ongoing movement toward specialized and integrated treatment for co-occurring disorders, particularly those involving trauma. He is a licensed clinical psychologist and a certified addiction specialist.
