  1. Do you offer private rooms?

    Yes. Every resident at Casa Palmera is offered their own deluxe room with all the necessary amenities. Residents have the option of staying in a semi private room if that is their preference. Each room at Casa Palmera was specially designed by energy and Feng Shui specialists and the room's ambiance complements the serene setting of the facility. Residents are encouraged to bring personal effects to make their room feel more like home.

  2. Are there offsite activities included?

    Casa Palmera residents have many opportunities for supervised offsite outings. These include nature walks, trips to the movie theater, boogie boarding, supervised grocery shopping, spirituality retreats on the beach, sporting events and a variety of other activities.

  3. What is the average length of stay?

    The minimum length of stay for our treatment programs is 30 days. However, most residents stay an average of 90 days.

  4. How much time will I spend with other residents?

    Each resident's treatment program is customized to incorporate individual and group therapy on daily basis. Solitary activities such as journaling and reading are supplemented by group activities such as yoga or equine growth and learning.

  5. What are your staff credentials?

    Casa Palmera's multi-disciplinary team consists of highly skilled professionals who include: licensed psychiatrists, psychologists, doctors, therapists, dietitians, nurses, an acupuncturist, an herbalist, a biofeedback clinician, and a homeopathic specialist.

  6. What is your success rate?

    Studies indicate that success rate positively correlates with the amount of time spent in treatment. The longer the length of stay the higher is the likelihood of recovery.

  7. What type of facility are you?

    Casa Palmera is a licensed hospital in a comfortable residential setting. We offer 24/7 nursing care in conjunction with multiple treatment and therapeutic modalities.

  8. How are the families and loved ones involved in treatment?

    Casa Palmera firmly believes that family involvement is essential to a successful recovery. Therefore, we incorporate an intensive three day family program that includes educational sessions, therapy sessions as well as experiential/expressive therapies such as equine growth and learning or the challenge ropes course.

  9. Do you accept insurance?

    Insurance carriers vary a great deal in their policies. Casa Palmera will help you obtain information about you insurance's benefits. An insurance plan may or may not cover the cost of your stay. Casa Palmera has no control over the ultimate outcome of insurance reviews and your insurance provider may not guarantee payment upon final billing. Casa Palmera may have external financing options available.

  10. What is a typical day at Casa Palmera like?

  11. What is the meal plan like?

    Each resident receives an individualized meal plan determined by our registered dietician. Meals are varied and balanced and include "challenge" foods to support fear reduction. A healthy relationship with foods that may be thought of as "bad" by individuals suffering from an eating disorder are included on a weekly basis.

  12. I think I might have a problem with alcohol too, do I have to go to rehab first?

    Casa Palmera's multidisciplinary staff treats individuals with co-occurring addictions as well as eating disorders and trauma such as post traumatic stress disorder. If you think you might have a problem with alcohol or drugs, speak with one of our intake coordinators and together we will determine how we can meet your needs effectively.

  13. Can my family or friends come and visit me?

    Casa Palmera affords each resident time to visit with friends and family during "downtime" from the treatment program.

  14. How much can I exercise?

    The treatment team at Casa Palmera recognizes that exercise is a functional part of an overall plan for optimal recovery.
