Depression Outpatient Treatment
Overview
Welcome to our Depression Outpatient Treatment Program
Casa Palmera is excited to offer a Depression Outpatient Program for our local
community. This program is designed to help patients receive accelerated treatment
while still participating in their daily responsibilities such as work or school. Participants
will be attending activities Monday, Wednesday, and Thursday evenings. Activities will
include group therapy, and a family component.
Antidepressants are the most regularly used treatment for patients with depression
seeking outpatient treatment. They work by removing chemicals from the brain called
neurotransmitters. Antidepressants help make more of these natural chemicals available.
Depression outpatient treatment can help assist in stopping the pattern of negative
thoughts and feelings.
Casa Palmera provides comprehensive outpatient services for those patients who are
assessed as being able to participate successfully in regularly scheduled outpatient
visits and who are not at medical risk. The vision of Casa Palmera's Intensive Outpatient
Program, or IOP, is to provide treatment that empowers patients to function more
independently and responsibly, while preparing them for the community with the skills
and abilities to lead successful lives.
